importers, dealers should be aware that
they become the importer
and will be responsible for
ensuring that the engine meets
the regulations. In the event that an
engine is inspected by Environment
Canada and it is found non-compliant
with the new regulations, the dealer will
be liable. Make sure you know the
product you are importing. This will
of course not be an issue with any of
the engine manufacturers who are
NMMA members, as they are working
closely with Environment Canada and
NMMA to ensure a smooth transition
for their dealers.
